Dog-Assisted Interventions: The Therapeutic Power of the Bond

At Indalo Wooff & Care, we take our profound love for dogs one step further, channeling it to help those who need it most.

Dog-Assisted Interventions (DAI) are a discipline where the dog acts as a powerful motivator and facilitator, becoming an emotional bridge to improve the quality of life for various groups.

Specialized Technical Direction: Myriam Calderón

The success and safety of these interventions depend on the qualifications of the person leading them. This sensitive department is headed by Myriam Calderón, who holds the official title of Higher Technician in Dog-Assisted Interventions and is a certified Assistance Dog Instructor. Her training guarantees that every project is structured with the utmost ethical and professional rigor.

What Do They Involve, and What Are Their Benefits?

We always work as a team alongside the professionals at the centers we visit (psychologists, physiotherapists, educators, occupational therapists) to design programs with specific therapeutic or educational goals.

The presence of our dogs, specifically selected and trained for this work, provides a safe, judgment-free environment that fosters incredible progress across different areas:

  • Emotional and Social Area: Reduces anxiety, boosts self-esteem, improves social skills, and cultivates empathy.

  • Cognitive Area: Stimulates memory, language, attention, and concentration.

  • Physical Area: Provides extra motivation to perform psychomotor exercises or physical rehabilitation.

## Animal Welfare: Our Golden Rule

In our association, DAI is based on mutual respect. The welfare of our "intervention dogs" is an absolute and non-negotiable priority. Our canine companions participate voluntarily, enjoying playtime and human contact, always under strict stress management to ensure that the session is just as positive and rewarding for the person as it is for the dog itself.
